On Saturday 7th May Sadiq Khan was sworn in as Mayor of London at Southwark Cathedral, a week later it was the turn of the independent multiplex  Peckhamplex, in recognition of excellence in active citizenship.

Chairman John Reiss and directors Simone Brown, Marianne Gray and Rakesh Makhecha  were honoured by the (outgoing) Mayor of Southwark, Dora Dixon-Fyle, at the annual Southwark Civic Awards held on Saturday 14th in Southwark Cathedral.

Peckhamplex received the council’s highest award, The Liberty of the Old Metropolitan Borough of Camberwell, an honour awarded for their social dividend for the people of Peckham and their contribution to Peckham life over 20 years, and as "a fantastic asset to our community".

“Peckhamplex is surprised and honoured to receive this award and it reflects the hard work of the entire 20+plus Peckhamplex team.”
